The history begins with a family resemblance.
Thomas first step took place at Bonpoint, founded by his parents Marie-France and Bernard Cohen. Irene, his wife, joined him working at the design office. We are in 1999. They learnt here the children's fashion world, the style, the know-how and the perfect fitting cuts.
Throughout their travels, they draw a new destiny, dreaming of a dedicated course in which basic child rhyme with offbeat spirit, all spiced with fun colors and prints… Bonton was born in May 2001, between the wink of an eye and the extension of their first adventure. At the same time, the first boutique opens its doors at the rue de Grenelle. It then takes on the appearance of a new concept dedicated to still being a child: ready-to-wear but also furniture, linens, books and a host of useful accessories mix together in a joyous odds and ends of 300m2. The ensuing success reinforces Bonton to take its destiny in its hands. The young brand disassociates itself from its older, making changes and offering a new chemistry. Irene is in charge of the collection and Thomas of the commercial management.
With key ingredients such as color, good spirits and humor, the Bonton style appeals to families of all horizons. A love affair begins 12 years ago and now includes followers such as Sofia Coppola, Kate Winslet, Stella Mc Cartney, Karine Viard, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Geraldine Pailhas…
